Elegant Balmoral Hotel Wedding

When I first met Alan and Isla it was to hear all about their wedding plans over a coffee in Edinburgh. Within 5 minutes I could tell how relaxed and carefree they were and it was just great being around them. I knew I was going to have a brilliant time with them on their wedding day!

Well the day comes around and it was gorgeous sunny day in late December and sure enough Alan and isla are loving life and not a hint of stress or nerves to be seen. I dont think I’ve ever seen a couple smile so much on their wedding day as this pair. Just beaming faces and throw-head-back laughter all day. The pair just looked so comfortable with each and really loved soaking up the experience.

The Balmoral Hotel is a stunning city centre Hotel and a fantastic wedding venue in the heart of Edinburgh. As a wedding photographer in Edinburgh I love these city centre venues. The grandeur of the Balmoral, the location, the interior, just everything is amazing to photograph. Some of my favourite times with Alan and isla are when we all went up to Calton hill for some portraits. I’m not gonna lie, it was near enough a proper hike, but there was no complaining. We make it up the steep steps and out onto the scenic platform of Calton hill where the views of downtown Princess Street, the Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh Castle and Arthur Seat are all at your beckoning call. Everywhere you turn there’s a gorgeous photo! The light was beautiful, and the temperature was freezing but there was a lot of warmth in the brilliant time we had together.

Before heading back down to the Balmoral Hotel for the evenings wedding day celebrations we stopped off for some ‘middle of the street’ photos! it’s always exciting to try new things, even if there’s a little hint of danger involved ha! Alan just looked too cool and Isla just looked too amazing in that Kavelle dress not to show them off to the public a bit more! If you are getting married at the Balmoral Hotel you will be looked after by the fantastic Master of Ceremonies, Bob. He’ll keep you right on your special day and make sure you have everything you want, before you even have to ask for anything.

This wedding day was everything Isla and Alan could have wished for and it was a privilege for myself to be a part of. I loved getting to know this awesome bride and groom and can’t wait to see what the future holds from them.
