Ben proposed to Nicky on a rowing boat on a lake in Central Park, New York, how could anyone say no right?!

Ive known Ben for around 10 years, we are both veterans of the George street bar scene, working side by side all those years ago I couldn't have imagined Id be trusted with the honour of shooting his wedding! Its always nice for me shooting weddings for good friends especially when I getto staya little longer for a couple drinks with the couple at the end!

The wedding was held in Borthwick Castle, a stunning 15th century fortress nestled in the Scottish Countryside only 30 minutes drive from Edinburgh. The castle and surroundings, provided me with all the rich colours and textures that I love so much and with a glamorous wedding guest list there to celebrate Ben and Nicky's special day, it was a delight to photograph in.

Being surrounded by lots of close friends and family made this an intimate wedding full of plenty laughs and tears that was awesome to capture. The ceremony especially was full of personal touches and the Groom's speech would be as tearfull as I think some expected.. You did well bro!  As we knew she would, Nicky made a gorgeous bride and looked effortlessly glamorous in her beautiful Amanda Wakeley dress. The guys too looked amazing, keeping it a little different and not doing the kilt, instead rocking tartan trousers.

I really enjoyed being a part of such an amazing wedding. When you're  photographing familiar faces all day having the the time of their lives, it never feels like a job, only a joyous adventure...Ok, a back-breaking joyouse adventure ha.

Congratulations again guys, it was a great wedding with amazing people. X
